Description

DAY 1:UYUNI – SALAR DE UYUNI – COQUESA (only Wednesday and Friday)

Start at 10 am. First visit to the Train Cemetery (also called Train Graveyard) and Colchani. Now we are inside the magnificent Salar de Uyuni, on our way we will observe the “Ojos de Agua” (Water Eyes) and Playa Blanca Hotel. We continue towards Incahuasi Island, it stands in the center of the salt flat. Free time at the Salar de Uyuni to take beautiful and funny pictures. Sunset at the salt flats.

*During rainy season, due to the flood of the salt flats:

- the accommodation will be in Uyuni or San Pedro de Quemes

- the visits to the attractions inside the salt flat might be suspended without pervious notice

DAY 2:COQUESA – JOYAS ALTOANDINAS – HEDIONDA LAGOON

We will drive towards Thunupa volcano, panoramic viewpoint to observe the Salt Flat and we will also visit a local museum where we will be able to see pre-Columbian mummies. Leaving the salt flat behind we begin going south, we get to a viewpoint to observe Ollagüe Volcano at the distance and later the “Joyas Andinas”, a group of beautiful lagoons. Our ecolodge at 4500 masl, is located beside the Hedionda Lagoon with beautiful andean flamingos.

DAY 3: HEDIONDA LAGOON – EDUARDO AVAROA RESERVE – UYUNI

Departure at 6 am, today we will visit Eduardo Abaroa National Reserve, on the way we will visit the Árbol de Piedra (Stone Tree) inside the Siloli Desert at 4.600 m.a.s.l. Arrival to the Red Lagoon (Laguna Colorada) with a big population of andean, james and chilena flamingos. Later visit to Sol de Mañana, with bubbling mud “fumaroles” and the Green Lagoon (Hito Cajón is the border to continue to San Pedro de Atacama - Chile). Before return to Uyuni we will have a refreshin bath at the Hot Springs and the nice visits to Valle de las Rocas and San Cristobal town. Arrival at 6 pm approximately.
