After pickup, leave Puerto Madryn and head South to the city of Trelew. The city name which in Welsh means “touwn of Luis”, is a tribute to Lewis Jones, considered the city's founder.
Enjoy a tour of the city's most notable landmarks, such as Independence Square.
Make a stop at the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum (MEF), admission is optional. This new museum houses dinosaur skeletons of different species found in the region, murals painted by set designers from the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, as well as thousands of fossil specimens. Among them is the largest found in South America.
You'll also observe scientists at work cleaning, restoring, and classifying fossil specimens.
From TRELEW, the tour departs for Gaiman, a former Welsh colony. Wander its streets and visit the Welsh Regional Historical Museum, located in the old train station. Visit the first house built in Gaiman in 1874, an old railway tunnel, and the old chapels that provided spiritual support to the settlers. We'll stop at a teahouse to enjoy delicious Welsh tea. We'll also enjoy a wide variety of cakes, bread, butter, and much more. We then continue to the town of Dolavon, stopping at the La Angostura ranch, where fine fruits are grown and then used to make jams, sweets, and other items. In Dolavon, we will take a city tour to learn about the history of this famous town.
From there, the tour returns to the city of Puerto Madryn.
