The Royal Palace of Morocco Dar el-Makhzen is a palace in the municipality of Méchouar Fez Jdid, in Fes, Morocco. Covering an area of 80 hectares, the site includes the royal palace, a mosque, a madrasah (founded by the Merinids in 1320) and a weapons square. Its facade on the Place des Alaouites consists of huge 7 copper doors, which were carved by a local craftsman around 1970.

Since the city's inception, the tanning industry has operated continuously in the same way as in the first centuries.
