Pizza & Gelato Cooking Class in a 17th-Century Palazzo

by InRome Cooking Duration 3h Free cancellation available No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is $91

Channel your inner pizzaiolo (pizza maker) and learn to make pies the Roman way, with a crisp crust and fresh ingredients. Follow it up with a classic Italian gelato, and then dine in style. A fun activity for little pizzaiolos as well.

Meet up with the chef at a 17-century palazzo and pick your workstation for the day. Watch the flour fly as the chef explains the correct technique for creating the perfect pizza dough—the way it has been done for 2 centuries since it originated in Naples.

Take your pick of the choicest fixings, such as fresh buffalo mozzarella and plump tomatoes. Go crazy creating your own signature pizza with options from salty prosciutto to Nutella—with a rich tomato sauce for a pizza rosso or without for a simple bianca.

While the pizza cooks and the delicious aroma of the baking crust wafts from the ovens, create a creamy dessert of cool gelato. Feast on antipasti and drinks while you wait, and then join together in the 17th-century fresco-adorned dining room to enjoy your culinary works of art.

We had a great time learning from Marco, with assistance from Frederica! The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable and we not only learned proper at home techniques for Roman pizza and gelato, but had some great conversation all over the world with new friends from Australia, England and Canada at our tables
