What you can expect

The River Tummel Rafting tour is seasonal and operates only 17 weekends each year. Tours begin in early June and run until the last weekend in September. Weight limit: 15 st and over please get in contact.

The white water rafting tours lasts 2.5 hours max and the rafts that are used have a capacity of 6 participants.

The meeting point is the loch-side picnic area of a scenic glen near Pitlochry, Scotland. There are large tents set up for you so you can change into your rafting clothes. You’ll also receive the equipment you need for the river adventure.

After getting geared up you’ll take a 5-mile bus ride to the starting point of the rafting trip. Private cars are not allowed as this is a restricted dam area.

Next is a comprehensive safety briefing by your guide, who will also answer any questions you may have. Once you’re on the water, the trip begins and the fun begins.

You’ll be rafting on a tight and narrow technical grade 3 and 4 river. The scenery along the way is stunning and the rapids increase in difficulty as the trip progresses. On the final section of the river you’ll tackle a series of rapids cumulating in a 2-tier, 18-foot grade 4 rapid that will leave you screaming for more!

The activity ends with a gentle paddle across the Loch, which takes you back to the meeting point.
