Be ready to begin from your hotel lobby at 8:30 am. then visit Zhangjiajie national forest park, which is formerly a state-owned forest farm, was discovered by the outside world in the early 1980s. It is the earliest scenic spot developed in Zhangjiajie. In 1982, the State Council approved the establishment of the first National Forest Park in China. The Park covers an area of 72,000 mu. It is famous for its unique natural scenery of quartz sandstone peak forest and the ancient wilderness landscape of the primary and secondary forests. Within the territory, solitary peaks like giant bamboo shoots proudly point to the sky, streams like ribbons spread between thousands of valleys and gorges. The seclusion of Jinbian River, the hero of Huangshizhai, the danger of Yaozi Village, the beauty of Pipa River, the wilderness of Shandaogou and the wonder of Yuan Jiajie are all admired. Zhangjiajie is rich in forest resources. There are 93 families and 517 species of woody plants alone, more than twice as many as in Europe.
