Description

Away from the tourist hotspots sits the historic city of Nassau, with colonial government buildings, the famous Queen's Staircase, native Straw Market, and more. Led by a knowledgeable guide, discover the city's rich history, vibrant culture, and colorful blend of old-world charm and modern beauty.

Venture to the heart of Nassau and learn about the Bahamian music and food that bring this lively culture together. The Bahamas is a deep-rooted nation with influences from England, Spain, and parts of West Africa, creating a unique island spirit that you won't find anywhere else in the world. Arrive at the center of town and see the colonial-style Parliament House, the Government house, stately legislative buildings, and law courts.

Stroll through Fort Charlotte, a hillside British colonial-era fort with a long history of war. Along your journey, hear stories of hundreds of pirates who set out to the New World and found Nassau's wealth of gold and natural resources.

Walk down the city's famous limestone staircase, known as Queen's Staircase, honoring Queen Victoria's efforts to abolish slavery in the Bahamas. The tour concludes just past Gregory's Arch, built in 1901, at the Straw Market of Nassau, a traditional craft-fair market that offers distinctive Bahamian souvenirs.

Since there isn't a middle option, I had to choose the moood felt most. The tour was nice, but you only get out twice and both were not at places that you really wanted to. We took the tour to see the sites, and we saw them as we sped passed them. We really wanted to see the Queen's staircase up close, but we didn't stop for it and drove by it so fast my mom wasn't able to even get a picture of it. For the amount of money paid, I don't think I'd recommend this to anyone especially if they wanted to "see" the sites
