What you can expect

Discover the special relationship between Mozart and Prague on a tour that traces the famous composer’s footsteps in the city. Visit the Estates Theatre, site of the world premiere of Don Giovanni, an exhibition at the Czech Museum of Music, and several houses where the musician lived.

Prague remains proud of the role it played in the life of the musical genius, Mozart. Meet your guide and begin your journey on foot to learn why this pride is so strong and how influenced the composer was by local sites and culture.

Stroll through Old Town, stopping at the Golden Angel house and the Estates Theatre. It is at the Estates Theatre that the world premiere of Don Giovanni took place on October 29, 1791. Then see the Three Golden Lions house where Mozart lived during his second stay in Prague.

Next, board a tram and head to Lesser Town to visit the exhibition of music at the Czech Museum of Music. Your guide points out key elements in the museum that highlight Mozart. Then, travel by cable railway to Petrín for a view of the tower.

Continue on foot to the Strahov Monastery at Hradèany. Here you see where Mozart improvised by using an organ in the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary on the day of Don Giovanni's premier. Your journey ends at the St. Nicholas Church, where a requiem was held on December 14, 1791, as a tribute to Mozart.
