Description

Spend a day uncovering some of the most iconic imagery of the American West, along with the history and culture of the Navajo people. Enjoy the vibrant reds and yellows of the Painted Desert Cliffs, scenic ponderosa pines, and the jutting scenery of Monument Valley in one incredible day.

Begin the day with a drive through the beautiful ponderosa pine forests around Flagstaff. Make a stop at the historic Cameron Trading Post, perusing its excellent selection of souvenirs and authentic Native American arts and crafts.

Continue across the desert to the Navajo Nation, seeing wide-open views of the Painted Desert Cliffs, Elephant Feet, and many other remarkable natural landmarks. Learn about the Navajo people's rich culture and history from your guide before arriving at the Tribal Park. Eat a delicious lunch overlooking the famous Monument Valley rock formations.

Take a guided tour along the valley floor—the highlight of the day—to see the most impressive views in the valley. Stop at John Ford Point for an expansive view of the entire area. See the famous East and West Mittens, as well as Totem Pole and Rain God Mesa. Reflect on the incredible scenery as you drive back to Flagstaff.

This is a long day from Flagstaff, but the guide we had by the name of JR was excellent, he was informative , funny and as we were a small group we never felt rushed or as if we were missing anything, lunch was better than usual at a proper restaurant and a bonus stop at John wayne's cabin. Couldn't fault the tour in any way.
