What you can expect

Head out onto the ice for few hours or a day spent dipping your line in the wintry waters of a frozen Alaskan lake. In a cozy hut set up by your experienced fishing guide, find out how to prepare your pole with the proper bait and enjoy reeling in prize keepers to be grilled up for a delicious lunch.

Bundle up and catch a ride with your guide as they pick you up from your Fairbanks hotel. Cruise out to your fishing spot for the day, chatting with your guide about the importance of ice fishing to the area's communities. When you arrive, head into the shack built above holes drilled out of the ice and settle into a comfortable seat while you help set up your tackle.

Lower your line into the water and practice your patience as you wait for that first strike, setting the hook when it happens so you can reel in your first catch. Your guide will clean your fish and grill them up for a tasty lunch before you collect the gear and head back to your hotel.
