That's why we'll immerse gradually into the medieval urban paths of the town, its secondary squares, fountains to reach gradually the beating heart of Piazza Vecchia, exploring the Campanone Medieval Tower, the magnificent Basilica and Cathedral with its unsurpassable art treasures; the magnificent Mausoleum of Colleoni the brave warrior of the Serenissima Republic; stroll around to discover its medieval shops and old markets squares today nice spaces converted to modern business activities; we'll have a romantic walk alongside a segment of the perimeter of the Venetian walls a UNESCO patrimony meditating on the breathtaking view in front of us and I'm sure where you'll print the image in front of you forever. Rocca di Bergamo

Raggiungeremo la Rocca di Bergamo sul Colle di S. Eufemia, percorrendo l'antica via Gombito ed alcune delle viuzze medievali tra antiche case torri e piccole piazze. Giunti sul colle di S. Eufemia, esploreremo con una breve camminata perimetrale la struttura militare della Rocca di Bergamo, lanciando lo sguardo su magnifici panorami verso la città antica con i suoi antichi tetti, torri e cupole e uno sguardo più libero oltre i confini della città sui colli e le due valli convergenti in pianura.

Piazza Vecchia è il cuore vivo pulsante di questa città, una delle piazze più belle d'Italia, tutta da scoprire. Luogo circondato dagli edifici civili più rappresentativi della città quali l'antico palazzo comunale, il Palazzo della Ragione del XII° sec., la medievale Torre Civica chiamata affettuosamente il Campanone di Bergamo, la Biblioteca A. Mai ed il suo vasto e prezioso patrimonio librario.

Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore

Visiteremo la Basilica di S. Maria Maggiore un vero scrigno ricco di tesori d'arte realizzati tra il XIII° e il XIX°. L'antica basilica eretta nel 1137 conserva meravigliosi affreschi medievali, preziosi arazzi di manifattura fiorentina e fiamminga, tarsie cinquecentesche, un meraviglioso confessionale barocco del '700 e molte altre preziose testimonianze artistiche tutte da scoprire

Cappella Colleoni

Lasciata la Basilica di S. Maria Maggiore visiteremo il mausoleo del grande condottiero bergamasco, Bartolomeo Colleoni, Capitano dell'esercito della Repubblica di Venezia. La Cappella funebre che è liberamente visitabile, si presenta con una magnifica facciata policroma affacciata sulla piccola piazza della Cattedrale. Al suo interno, decorato con affreschi di G.B. Tiepolo, riposano le spoglie del condottiero morto nel 1475.

Mura Venete

Percorreremo una parte del segmento sud-ovest della fortificazione muraria veneta che circonda città alta, scopriremo le origini della costruzione militare rapportandola alla storia di Bergamo; visualizzeremo alcuni dettagli costruttivi e ammireremo il magnifico panorama dall'alto ricordando anche alcuni aneddoti sulle mura.

Porta San Giacomo

Raggiungeremo al termine un altro punto straordinario per qualità di vedute: Porta S. Giacomo, la porta più scenografica nel perimetro delle mura venete, dal 2017 patrimonio UNESCO. Sarà da qui che a metà tra la Città Alta, quella antica e la Città Bassa, quella moderna, ci sentiremo in un perfetto equilibrio ed armonia tra due mondi.
