Meeting/Redemption Point

    • Before you start your journey you will have to pick-up your bike at Travelshop Malmö. Malmö central station, Malmö C is a railway station and one of the major hubs for the city's public transport. From here, many people commute every day to and from other locations around southern Sweden. Trains have been running to and from the neighboring city of Lund since 1856, which is famous for its old university and beautiful cathedral. The central station was completed in 1858, but large parts of it were destroyed in a fire in 1866. The newer parts of the central station are from 2010, when the City Tunnel was completed, which connects the city with the Öresund Bridge. When you have left the hectic city life in Malmö behind, the journey takes you towards Svedala. Along the road in Svedala, the landscape is slightly hilly and the possibilities for scenic rest stops are countless.

What you can expect

This is a lovely weekend cycling in the Scanian landscape for everyone, breathe in the fresh air as you cycle through flourishing meadows and ride with the goal towards Hällåkra vineyard. Hällåkra vineyard is located in southern Skåne, where the scenic southern slopes of the backland meet Söderslätt.
Hällåkra Vingård is owned by the Hansson family in the fifth generation and today includes a cultivation of around 6.5 hectares and approx. 22,000 vines. Red, white, sparkling and sweet wines are produced from these. Here you can go on a journey and see the artisanal work behind the production of the wines. Take a relaxing walk in the vineyard and taste their fantastic wines that are grown with an organic approach.
Program: Start by picking up your bikes centrally at Malmö C, where you will also receive information and a map about the excursion. When you have left the hectic city life in Malmö behind, the journey takes you towards Svedala. Along the road in Svedala is the landscape is slightly hilly and the possibilities for scenic rest stops are countless. An attraction that deserves to be explored is Lindholmens castle ruins from the 14th century. The castle is located adjacent to the northwestern shore of Lake Börringesjön. Today it is a grassy hill, but once upon a time the ruin was a significant red brick defensive structure, with a core tower, a corner tower and an 18 meter high gate tower. The castle was located in the middle of the wetland and had double moats and a strong ring wall. Today it is possible to distinguish where the moat has been. There is also an information board with more facts about the bail.
At Lindholmens castle ruins west of Börringesjön there are many old trees in the so-called Queen Margarethes garden. Here there is a varied landscape with alternating beech forests, fields and pastures. Börringecloster is another attraction that you don't want to miss, the monastery was founded in the 12th century and was a monastery for nuns of the Benedictine order. The castle is not open to the public, but take the opportunity to go into Anitas in Börringe, which is located by the castle, and buy some coffee with you, or coffee on the spot. They also have a cozy farm shop and art exhibition.
When you are ready to discover the Svedala area, it is time for Hällåkra winery, here you will be offered wine tasting and Scanian tapas, an excellent way to end a wonderful tour. The cycle path from Hällåkra to Svedala station, then goes through a beautiful beech forest, where you then take the train back to Malmö.
This experience can also be booked as a walking tour without a bike, the choice is yours. In this case, you take the train from Malmö central station to Svedala and walk about 5.6 km to reach Hällåkra vineyard.
For bigger groups you can book on other days.
Package 1 Cyckling 850 kr
Package 2 Hiking 750 kr
If you choose the hiking to Hällåkra you take the public transportation to Anderslöv and start walking from there.
