A full-day trip during which you will discover that Rhodes is much more than hotels and beaches. We will take you through the island’s mountains, traditional villages, and some of its most important historical and natural landmarks.
Depending on the season, our first stop will vary. During the low season, we visit Filerimos, located near the village of Trianta, on the site of the ancient Doric city of Ialyssos. Here you can explore the unique monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the remains of ancient Ialyssos, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. In the high season, we visit the famous Butterfly Valley, a beautiful natural reserve where thousands of butterflies gather among lush greenery and shaded paths.
Next, we head to the ancient city of Kamiros, located along the northwest coast of the island. Kamiros was one of the three major Doric cities of Rhodes, which united with Ialyssos and Lindos in the 5th century B.C. to form the powerful city-state of Rhodes. Today, the archaeological site reveals impressive remains of the Hellenistic-Roman city, including parts of houses and public buildings, the Agora, the Doric Temple, and the central street.
Our journey continues to the mountain village of Embona, the island’s most important wine-producing village. Here, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional Rhodian products such as honey, olive oil, and local spirits, and enjoy free time to relax or have lunch at a local taverna.
A wonderful and authentic Rhodian experience awaits you!
