An early pick up form your hotel (8h00 approximately) to take a ride to the northern part of the city towards Middle of the World Site. On the small Mitad del Mundo citadel you will visit the Middle of the World Monument, built in honor to the French Scientific Expedition (XVIII century) that tried to defin the location of the equator for the first time. Afterwards, you will visit the Inti Ñan Museum, a scientific and cultural museum located in the real location of the Equator Line. We will hit the road again heading back to the city to step into the past wondering around Quito Historical Center.
The trip takes a brake here for lunch, your guide will give you some great options to introduce you to a bit of the Andean cuisine (lunch not included).
Continue the tour in the UNESCO World Patrimony Old Town Quito, step into the beautiful colonial churches and submerge into its history and classic art. A rich colonial legacy with European and pre-Spanish roots fill the old city. You will start by visiting San Francisco Square and Church, the Independence Square and the main Cathedral, Presidential Palace Building, and one of the best examples of the baroque movement in South America, the iconic La Compañía de Jesus church. Most of the religious buildings here date 500 years old – it will dazzle your senses. Afterwards, enjoy an amazing 360- degree view from Panecillo Hill before riding back to your hotel of stay in Quito.
