What you can expect
Experience both Portland’s top sites and the Columbia River Gorge’s natural beauty on a comprehensive full-day tour. Marvel at Multnomah Falls, peruse the food trucks at Pioneer Courthouse Square, and wander the restful Lan Su Chinese Garden.
After convenient pickup from your downtown Portland hotel, travel around the City of Roses while listening to engaging commentary from your local guide. Tour the grounds of the Pittock Mansion (we will not go inside), an architectural landmark that symbolizes Portland’s transformation from a small lumber town into a bustling city. As you pass by Washington Park, let the fragrance of more than 550 different varieties of roses delight your senses.
You have time for lunch on your own in Pioneer Courthouse Square which is known for its eclectic food trucks. Then head out to bask in nature’s glory around the Columbia River Gorge. Start at the Portland Women's Forum scenic viewpoint and the historic Crown Vista Point House for postcard-perfect scenery. Then, stop at Latourell Falls which plunges 249 feet (76 m) into the Columbia River. Depending on weather, you may also view the elegant Bridal Veil Falls.
Your guide then takes you to Multnomah Falls—the most visited natural recreation site in the Pacific Northwest. According to Native American lore, Multnomah Falls was created to win the heart of a young princess who wanted a hidden place to bathe. Stand on the bridge spanning the cascading water and feel the cool mist on your face before heading back to your downtown Portland hotel.
