The adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel and a drive to the high Andean areas of the region. During the journey, you will make a stop at the Apacheta, one of the highest points on the route. From Tarata, you can take an optional hike along a stretch of the ancient Inca Trail, or Qhapaq Ñan. During the tour, you'll see well-preserved agricultural terraces, small waterfalls, pre-Inca and Inca archaeological remains of Santa María, and the impressive Qalaqala Stone Forest, a place surrounded by history and unique landscapes.
