Know before you book

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION REQUIRED FROM ALL PASSENGERS: You MUST provide all passenger names at the time of booking in order to visit Mount Vesuvius or you may be refused entry.
  • This activity is not wheelchair accessible. We regret that we are unable to accommodate pushchairs or strollers on our tours.
  • From early November to February the Vesuvius isn't accessible and it is replaced with Positano, except for Christmas period (from 26/12/25 until 02/01/26) when Vesuvius is open.
  • Also, during summer months in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors, therefore, if this is the case, it is replaced with a visit to Sorrento where you will get free time to explore the city.
  • When Vesuvius option is selected: in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors. If this is the case, it will be replaced with a visit to Positano where you will get free time to explore the city.

What you can expect

Discover the wonders of southern Italy on this full-day adventure from Rome. Travel in comfort aboard a climate-controlled coach as you head south on the Highway of the Sun toward Pompeii one of the world’s most iconic archaeological sites.

Upon arrival, skip the lines and follow a professional archaeologist through the preserved ruins of Pompeii. Walk the ancient streets, step inside Roman homes, shops, and bathhouses, and imagine daily life as it was frozen in time under volcanic ash over 1,500 years ago.

After the guided tour, enjoy an all-inclusive lunch at a traditional Italian restaurant with breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples. Savor authentic Neapolitan pizza, a classic appetizer, and a sweet Italian dessert.

In the afternoon, journey up the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius (March to early November) and choose between two options: hike to the crater for stunning views of Capri and the Amalfi Coast, or explore with a geologist to learn about the volcano’s fascinating history and geology.

During winter months (November to February), instead of Mt. Vesuvius, the tour continues to the coastal town of Positano. Enjoy free time to explore at your own pace, browse boutiques, sip espresso by the beach, or wander through charming streets. Please notice that the Lunch stop will not be included when going to Positano.
