Tumpak Sewu Waterfall Day Tour from Malang & What to Expect
• Pickup & getting there
Your driver picks you up from your Malang City accommodation between 5:00 - 6:00 AM for a reason: the 2 to 2.5-hour drive to Tumpak Sewu (Lumajang region) is best done early to beat traffic and arrive before the crowds are exactly why we start at dawn.
• The hike down to the base
After arriving at the parking area, you'll meet your local trekking leader and walk to the panoramic viewpoint; a sweeping view of Tumpak Sewu from above. Once at the base, you'll experience Tumpak Sewu up close, and yes, you will definitely get soaked.
• Exploring the falls & Goa Tetes cave
At the bottom, the adventure continues. You can explore the river channels around the base or extend your trek to Goa Tetes (Tetes Cave), a stunning cave waterfall about 30 minutes further. Total exploration time at the falls is 3 up to 4 hours.
• Return & lunch time
After your waterfall adventure, return to the parking for clean up time and Indonesian lunch at a local warung.
