What you can expect

  • Start the day at Benagil Cave before the crowds arrive. Leave Lagos Marina at sunrise in a small group and cruise east along the Algarve coast as the first light turns the cliffs gold. Pass sea caves, hidden beaches and the fishing village of Carvoeiro along the way.

    At this early hour the sea is often at its calmest and there are few boats around, so you can enjoy Benagil Cave, with its famous dome and skylight, in peace and take your time for photos. The boat enters the cave when the sea conditions allow. Under local rules, landing on the beach inside the cave is not permitted.

    Your local skipper shares stories about the coast before heading back to Lagos Marina. The tour lasts about 2 hours.
