The Florida Everglades begin in Orlando and continue south past Lake Okeechobee and all the way to Florida Bay where it meets the ocean. Your adventure begins as you board the comfort-controlled safari wagon with your eco-trained interactive guide.
On the drive south, learn about the history of the area, including Seminole trading routes and conservation efforts to save the endangered wildlife of the area. Learn about the 4 distinct eco-systems of the Everglades: sawgrass marshes, tropical hardwood hammock, pineland, and cypress, before you see some of them.
Upon arrival in Everglades City, board an airboat for a ride through the backwaters of the Gulf of Mexico. Coast through The Ten Thousand Islands, a chain of islands off the coast of Florida. Discover mangrove tunnels, marsh lands, and cypress canopies where you may spot native birds and perhaps an American alligator sunning itself on the shore.
