Join us for an epic day where you will have the chance to visit one of the most underrated touristic sites around Brasov which includes a volcanic canyon and an emerald lake, visit one of the oldest citadels in Romania and take a horse drawn carriage in Prince Charles's favorite village of Viscri. Here, you will visit a blacksmith and see how horseshoes are made and end the day with a traditional meal with local products.
You will be picked up from your location in Brasov and driven to Racos, where you will visit the geological complex which consists of three places which you shouldn't miss: the basalt columns, 15 meter high rock structures that will surely impress you, the Emerald Lake with its unique looking color and last but not least, the volcanic canyon which you will surely love. The area was a witness of volcanic activities and the scenery surely give you the feeling that you're inside an active volcano, except the hot lava, of course.
If you like a bit of history, you can visit the Sukosd Bethlen castle situated in the village of Racos and even climb into the tower for a nice panorama over the area.
Your next stop will be the Racos citadel, situated on top of a small hill, above the city of Racos. This is one of the oldest archaeological sites in Romania, the first signs of human settlements dating from the Paleolithic and early Neolithic.
You final stop will be in Viscri, where you will have the chance to go on a 1 hour ride in a traditional horse drawn carriage through the village. Keep in mind that this is possible only on good weather. You will then visit a local blacksmith and see how horseshoes are made. You can even take one home.
End the day in style, with a traditional meal that will surely make you fall in love with this area.
After this you will be taken back to Brasov and dropped off at your location.
