Start an incredible one-day adventure to Cotopaxi from Quito, one of our friendly guides will pick you up at your hotel or Airbnb. From here begins our day of discovery and adventure as we travel the iconic 'Avenue of the Volcanoes' along the Pan-American Highway, heading to the majestic Cotopaxi National Park.
The first stop on our itinerary is the Mirador de Quito, a privileged place to admire the panoramic beauty of the city of Quito. We will continue our way toward the heart of the Cotopaxi National Park, the moor welcomes us with a large amount of flora and the charming Limpiopungo lagoon, a natural mirror in which the imposing Cotopaxi volcano is reflected.

Upon entering the park you will be able to visit the 'La Mariscal' Interpretation Center at 3600 meters above sea level (11811 ft) as a sanctuary of knowledge, where the rich biodiversity of Ecuador is revealed through interactive exhibitions about the Sierra, Coast, Amazon and the Galapagos Islands. Here, you will also discover Cotopaxi's volcanic history and the Andean paramo's diversity.
We will arrive at the parking lot of the Cotopaxi volcano, and from here we will have a walk to the José Rivas Refuge. The beautiful landscapes that we will observe will undoubtedly leave you breathless, if we are lucky we will be able to see some of the emblematic peaks such as Corazón, Rumiñahui, and the distant Chimborazo. The walk ends when you reach the refuge, where you can enjoy a cup of tea or hot chocolate in a cozy atmosphere.
On our return, we will have the opportunity to explore the Limpiopungo Lagoon, a bird and wildlife sanctuary, and contemplate the Cotopaxi volcano. This trail offers us an experience of deep connection with nature. We finish our tour with a typical lunch at a local restaurant and we will have a little time before saying goodbye to Cotopaxi. We will begin our return to Quito without forgetting the great adventure that will remain engraved in your memory, a testimony of Ecuador's beauty and culture.
