What you can expect
Explore the vibrant marine life off the coast of Catalina Island on this undersea expedition that takes you below the water's surface without ever getting wet. After your unique excursion, spend some free time exploring the charming streets of Avalon and the grand features of the Catalina Casino.
Set sail from the busy docks and marinas of Long Beach to reach the rocky shores of Catalina Island. Transfer from your spacious craft to a unique hybrid boat which features a hull studded with wide viewing windows, perfect for providing you with crystal clear looks at marine life.
Grab a seat as your submersible expedition begins and you start to look for a wide array of darting fish and native plants. You might pass through dense kelp gardens, swaying in the ocean current, or see immense rock formations rising up from the sandy bottom. Along the way, your guide points out colorful fish including spotted bass, orange Garibaldi, and rockfish. If you're lucky, you might even see the gliding movements of a graceful bat ray.
When your aquatic adventure winds to a close, head back to Catalina's shores for some leisure time before you head back to your hotel. Stroll past the quaint shops in Avalon, dig your toes into the sand at Descanso Beach, or go on a hike to spot local wildlife including rough-and-tumble buffalo and fleet-of-foot foxes.
