Description

See for yourself what life is like as a U.S. Senator at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate. Travel through the Senate's history, explore a replica of Senator Kennedy's office, and take part in a live vote on the Senate floor.

As soon as you step inside the Institute, you're greeted as a U.S. Senator. You interact with digital exhibits related to its history, learn about the work that senators do each day, and practice skills that you could one day use to become a senator yourself

Take a walk through the doors of the Institute's full-size replica of the Senate Chamber to get an inside look at this powerful space. With the help of the knowledgeable staff, participate in Today's Vote, a live floor debate on an active piece of legislation being considered by the real Senate. The Chamber also houses the Great Senate Debates program, which offers viewers the chance to experience one of the greatest debates in US history through a combination of live performance, historic film footage, and archival images.

Once you've gotten a large-scale feel for the Senate, get a more intimate look with a peek inside a reproduction of Senator Kennedy's Washington, D.C. office. See treasured mementos, personal photographs, and original artifacts while gaining insight into his legacy.

It was a great visit. My wife and our children found it very informational, educational, and fun. Not only we learned about Senator Edward Kennedy and his family, we learned also about the whole Senate system in the USA. We enjoyed inparticular when we sat in a hall designed to be replicate of the actual House of Senate in the DC. It has 100 seats and each visitor is considered Senator-in-Training and we discussed a bill and voted at the end of the discussion.
