This tour offers you a great opportunity to explore life in a typical Cambodian village, meet the friendly locals and discover their custom and their culture.
Our guide will pick you up at your hotel at 8.30am and take you to the Kompheim Village, 25 minutes from Siem Reap. Upon arrival, we take an ox-cart ride to visit the village, you can even learn to maneuver it.
Later we'll meet up with your host family and join in the seasonal activity at that time. There are a variety of seasonal activities: rice planting, weaving thatch roofs, planting or harvesting vegetable crops. Each tour will be a different experience as what ever the season it is, depending on the time of the year, the family or the village’s needs - and you will be a part of it. We will also help your host family plant a fruit tree.
After that, we will meet up with another family and together prepare a delicious Khmer meal for lunch time using freshest ingredients. This is a great time to share stories and discover the locals’ dining etiquettes.
After lunch, we will walk through the village, spend some time to interact with people, before calling it a day and heading back to Siem Reap, where rest of the day can be spent at your leisure.
