Explore one of the most famous routes in northern Vietnam with an expedition through the imposing beauty of the mountainous North West. This outing combines a scenic train ride with an introduction to the colorful multicultural life of the region's native people.

Day 1: Train to Lao Cai Your outing begins in the evening with a ride from your hotel to Hanoi's railway station, where the train is waiting. Spend the night in a sleeper car as you ride across the countryside on the way to Lao Cai Province.

Day 2: Sa Pa, Cat Cat & Sin Chai Villages Once you arrive at Lao Cai in the morning, your guide shows you to Sa Pa for breakfast and some free time before you hike to the villages of Cat Cat and Sin Chai. Get to know the local Black Hmong people, see the beautiful waterfall in Cat Cat, and then check into your hotel in Sa Pa ahead of some more free time to explore.

Day 3: Lao Chai & Ta Van Village After breakfast, head down to the village of Lao Chai for some insight into the Tay and Day people, and then descend to the bottom of the Sa Pa Valley to see the beautiful surroundings around the village of Ta Van. A motorcycle or jeep carries you back to Sa Pa, where you collect your things for the overnight train ride back to Hanoi.

Day 4: Return to Hanoi The tour comes to an end when you arrive in Hanoi, with a transfer carrying you right back to your hotel.
