It lies along the asphalted national road 4C with the nickname “The Happiness Road”. The road was built in the 60s by a lot of workers, mainly ethnic minorities from the area. It took 11 years to finish the whole road. It is known as the King of Vietnamese mountain passes. There are cliffs and abysses almost everywhere along the route and enough hairpin bends to get dizzy. The road along the mountainside has a romantic, breathtaking landscape that is ideal for motorcycling. The road to the top, considered “the Great Wall of Vietnam”, feels like a scene from a fairy tale.

The pagoda, perched on Phia Nham Mountain, provides a vantage point to admire the cascading waters of Ban Gioc and the lush paddy fields and towering mountains that frame the area.

Khuoi Ky community-based tourism village is located on provincial road No. 206, only 2km from the famous Ban Gioc waterfall. The village was established in the period between 1594 and 1677 when the Mac dynasty moved from Thang Long to Cao Bang province. The road leading to the village is paved with cobblestone. The village is currently home to 16 Tay ethnic households and 14 stone-built houses on stilts, which were constructed in the 16th century. The houses in the village are surrounded by stone fences, which have existed for hundreds of years. In an area of about 10,000m2, 16 houses in Khuoi Ky stand together, symbolising the strong bond between families. The remaining area of the village is used for agricultural cultivation. The custom of building stone houses comes from the Tay people's belief in the worshipping of the Stone God. They believe that the Stone God has strong natural powers that can protect them and bless them with a peaceful life.

Phuc Sen forging village of the Nung An sits at the foot of Pác Rằng mountain, which is about 40 km from Cao Bang city on the way to Ban Gioc, one of the most superb waterfalls in Vietnam. About 150 forges are always running to produce durable farm tools.

Nui Thung mountain, also called Angel Eye mountain, is still a very unknown place, at just 30 km from Cao Bang City and 70 km from Ban Gioc waterfall. It is not only the mountain that is worth a day trip, but the whole area, with Thang Hen Lake, villages, mountains and rice fields, all located in a hidden valley called Tuyet Tinh Coc.
