The Sagrada Familia Church is shaped like a ship’s hull, replacing the dragons with crosses and then repeating the motif of the Latin cross throughout, this is a perfect example of the Portuguese Art Deco architecture

Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception

It is dedicated to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. The foundation stone for the construction of the church was laid on June 28, 1936, and is located inside the narthex and inscribed by the Bishop of Mozambique and Cape Verde, D. Rafael Maria da Asunção. Construction on the cathedral was completed in 1944.
Saint Anthony Catholic Church

This Franciscan church, an emblematic building of modernist architecture, was designed by the portuguese architect Nuno Cavreiro Lopes. The Church of Saint Anthony of Polana was built in 1962 and restored in 1992. The building has the shape of an inverted flower and is popularly known as the “lemon squeezer”. In the dome of the building, of concrete and with conical shape, windows with colorful crystals also allow the entrance of light.
