Spend 2 days exploring the Sacred Valley and discover the astonishing lost city of Machu Picchu. DAY 1: After an early pickup from your hotel in Cusco, you will briefly visit Awanacancha, where you will have a chance pet the llamas and alpacas and know more about traditional weaving techniques. Your next stop is Pisac- a small colonial village and the perfect place to purchase authentic Andean souvenirs. You will make a brief stop in Urubamba for lunch before visiting Ollantaytambo, an Incan village like no other. This village began as a palace, but eventually was used in the last Incan stand against the invading Spanish conquistadors. Whether palace or fortress, these ruins offer an unforgettable view of the Sacred Valley. Finally, you will board one of the evening trains to Machu Picchu, where one of our guides will meet you at the train station and escort you to your comfortable hotel.

DAY 2: After breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes, your guide will transfer you to the bus station for the short bus ride up to Machu Picchu. Visit with your guide the UNESCO World Heritage Site, an ancient architectural wonder of rock walls and manicured terraces cut into steep terrain. At 7,970-feet (2,430 m) above sea level it’s almost as if you're at the top of the world in this sacred mountain-ringed valley. After the tour is over, you will have free time in Aguas Calientes before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. Finally, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.
