What you can expect

An exploration of Ireland 's fight for freedom in a walk designed to explain and investigate the traumatic events that occurred in Dublin in the early part of the 20th century.

Starting with the fight for home rule and the build up to threatened civil war, the gun-running both north and south.

Followed by the outbreak of WW1 in which over 250,000 Irishmen volunteered to fight for the empire. The Easter Rebellion will be explained in depth with visits to many sites associated with the fighting which shook the British. Dublin castle, the GPO, Liberty hall and the Moore St. battleground.

Learn of the executions and deportations that laid the foundations for the subsequent war of independence.

The treaty, the partition of Ireland and the tragic civil war will all be explained.

These are some of the most important events that shaped modern Ireland and still reverberate today.
