It can be difficult to find a resort that accommodates travel groups of all shapes and sizes. So, we’ve partnered with family traveler Kirsten Maxwell from Kids Are A Trip, as she reflects on a recent stay at Hacienda Encantada in Cabo San Lucas where there was something for everyone.
There are not many destinations offering stunning views similar to Hacienda Encantada in Cabo San Lucas. Perched high upon a cliff overlooking the Sea of Cortez, the resort offers views from various vantage points. Each panorama is spectacular, whether it’s the sunrise in the east, or the view toward El Arco in the west. The property’s colorful hacienda style design invites guests to stay a while, relax, and enjoy the beauty of Cabo San Lucas.
Hacienda Encantada offers something for everyone. Families, couples, individuals, and groups will all be able to create their own unique stays. So whether it’s a romantic getaway or a multi-gen trip you desire, everyone will find a favorite spot for relaxation.

What Hacienda Encantada Offers:
A Variety of Accommodations
Hacienda Encantada has several options to choose from when it comes to accommodation. The Ocean View Studio rooms are the smallest options on property, but each one offers sunset views over the Sea of Cortez. Luxury Suites come in a variety of sizes from a room with two queens, a spacious bathroom, and kitchenette to a luxury four bedroom penthouse. Another option is to reserve a private 3 bedroom villa with over 3,000 square feet of living area. This would be perfect for groups or large families.
The resort has an activity pool and game area for families. There’s a separate pool with an infinity edge and an adjacent pool that is adults only. Near the studio rooms is another pool reserved solely for guests of those rooms. Villas have private pools and outdoor barbecues. So, everyone can enjoy some time in the sun!
Views Throughout the Property
Hacienda Encantada sits atop a cliff providing views as far as the eye can see. Expect a breathtaking view around every corner. This is one of those properties! Whether it’s the sunrise, sunset, or simply looking out at the Sea of Cortez, every vista will put a smile on your face.

Different Dining Options
The resort has eight different dining options. Certain restaurants offer different meals of the day and serve a variety of cuisines. Barolo is the on-site Italian restaurant, El Eden is the taco and tequila bar, and Los Riscos is the perfect restaurant for a romantic Mexican dinner. Hacienda Encantada offers the option of a “Dining Out Privileges Plan”. This allows guests to pay for meals at restaurants in the downtown Golden Zone of Cabo San Lucas as part of a pre-paid plan. There are six restaurants available in town and transportation to and from the resort is included. Having the option to travel to town is a nice alternative for guests. Most units offer a small kitchen, so it is also possible to cook meals in the suite or villa.
Unique Experiences
Hacienda Encantada has a spa called Los Cabos Spa. A couple of unique experiences they offer are treatments overlooking the sea and visiting a temazcal. A temazcal is a round igloo-like structure with a central pit inside. This is filled with hot coals that start to give off steam as guests sit inside for a spiritual treatment. Practiced for centuries in Mexican and Central American cultures, this native ritual is considered to be cleansing both physically and spiritually. It is a very different, interesting experience offered by the resort.
Superior Service
The staff at Hacienda Encantada is top notch. From those that greet you upon arrival, to the ones that transport guests by golf cart throughout the resort, they are all super friendly. The wait staff at the restaurants are top notch as well. They are engaging and willing to make sure guests enjoy themselves and the food. Staff can make or break an experience. Here at Hacienda Encantada, the people really go above and beyond. That’s what superior service is all about!
