Tour the enchanting city of Cholula aboard Puebla's popular double-decker tram. Spot the world's largest pyramid, and admire some of Mexico's most picturesque temples.
Prepare to take some terrific photos as you set off to explore Cholula, a Magic Town selected to embody the country's historic and cultural heritage. Located between Puebla and the area's giant volcanoes, the “double” town brings together San Pedro and San Andres in a bustling community with Baroque and colonial architecture.
At your first stop, admire the remarkable San Gabriel monastery, built by the Franciscans in 1529. From there, continue to the Great Pyramid of Cholula, the largest pyramid in the world, with a history dating back more than 2,200 years. Atop the ancient structure rests the 16th-century Spanish church of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, a grand historic building in its own right.
Next, visit San Andres de Cholula before proceeding to the stunning temples of San Francisco Acatepec and Santa María Tonanzintla. Both churches are masterfully decorated and considered masterpieces of Baroque design.
