During this half-day excursion, see some of Chiapas' most spectacular natural attractions. Visit the majestic Sumidero Canyon and float between the towering walls with a cruise on the Grijalva River. Make a stop in the colonial town of Chiapa de Corzo before ending in San Cristobal.
Get picked up in Tuxtla Gutierrez in the morning and travel to Chiapa de Corzo, the first Spanish city founded in Chiapas during the 16th century. Your first adventure begins when you climb into a motorboat and go cruising down the Grijalva River, which takes you winding into the breathtaking Sumidero Canyon. Pass between the skyscraping walls of the canyon, which reach 3,000 feet (1,000 m) in height, and bask in the nature that surrounds you. Be sure to keep an eye out for crocodiles and colorful birds as well.
Following your river ride, return to Chiapa de Corzo and walk through the central square of the 16th-century city, admiring Spanish colonial architecture and seeing landmarks like the Santo Domingo Church and La Pila Fountain. End your journey with a ride into San Cristobal, where you can spend the rest of the day exploring.
