Your friendly professional hula instructor will meet you in the lobby of your hotel. We offer you the choice of a private hula lesson, a lei making lesson, or a fresh flower lei greeter.
Hula Lessons: Hula lessons are fun. You can enjoy a hula lesson for a variety of events. You can enjoy it for yourself, for little ones, for the entire family, for bridal showers, or for the girls while the men golf. Hula is for everyone, boys and girls. Take this opporturnity to “take the road less traveled.” Instead of just being a specatator or doing the hula just because it's available at some luau, do it to be a part of Hawaii and to have something real to take home with you.
Once meeting with your hula instructor, you both will find a shady spot near the ocean. Your hula lesson will begin with making a fresh flower hair piece for your hair. On your stay on the island, you will notice how the hula dancers adorn themselves with greenery or flowers and it is important to us that you get to have that same island feeling. Each guest will be given a sarong to practice swaying those hula hips. You will then learn our basic hula foot movements. As you learn the hand movements to your song, you will learn the Hawaiian words and the meanings to each gesture. To top off your lesson, video yourself to practice at home or share it with your family.
Lei Making Lesson: Having a fresh fragrant lei is a must in Hawaii. Your pleasant hula instructor will provide all of the necessities to make your very own lei. The fresh and fragrant flowers provided are all hand picked from your instructor. Take this time to unwind and “talk story” about Hawaii. Lei Greeter: Treat yourself or someone special to a fresh Hawaiian lei when you first arrive to your hotel on Maui. You can be greeted by a beautiful islander either at your hotel lobby. Your friendly greeter can answer any questions you might have about Maui. You can place an order for a minimum of two lei.
