The Khor Virap monastery is located less than an hour drive from Yerevan, with a spectacular view to mount Ararat, the oldest and most well-known mountain in Armenia Highland. “Khor Virap” translates as “deep dungeon” or "deep pit", and was a former prison and fortress, located near to historical town of Artashat. By legend, Gregory the Illuminator, the first Armenian Catholicos, was jailed her for 14 years, so this place is one of the sacred spots for Armenians and Christian Pilgrims from around the world.

Areni village, also known as village of wine is located on the bank of river Arpa. Wine traditions here are having more than six thousand years history. Wine testing, wine and oghi (homemade fruit vodka) selling points are available on each corner. All kinds of wine are largely available for testing and locals are joking, that they use wine as water. You will have a wine testing at one of the oldest wine factories in Areni.

Noravank, literally "new monastery") is a 13th-century Armenian monastery, located 122 km from Yerevan in a narrow gorge made by the Amaghu River, near the town of Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. The monastery is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church, which grants access to the second floor by way of a narrow stone-made staircase jutting out from the face of building.

The Shaki Waterfall is situated 6 km from the town of Sisian. On the left side of the river Vorotan's gorge, basalt lava flows have solidified to form a ledge 18 meters high from which the waterfall cascades down. This is one of most spectacular waterfalls in Armenia.

Khndzoresk Swinging Bridge

The bridge was inspired by a local entrepreneur's passion to showcase a truly unique Armenian village. His goal was to preserve the village's past, and, for future generations to discover their roots. The suspension bridge is a work of love by the people of the village. It was built by the villagers with their own hands, and horses, without modern machinery. It spans 160 meters across the most rugged, yet scenic gorge one could imagine. It's worth stopping along the way to catch your breath and take amazing pictures of the cliffside dwellings.
Old Khndzoresk

The historic cave village, located on the steep slope of a gorge, is comprised of both natural and manmade caves. At the inhabiting community’s height, some estimates suggest that population grew to as many as 15,000 people. Since many of the dwellings were carved out over and around each other, a complex system of ropes and ladders were required for people to reach many corners of the community. The village even had two churches and three schools.
