This private itinerary takes you to its rural heart, where every stone tells of those who transformed a rugged land into a living and productive landscape.

You will start from Piazzetta Perugia and climb to the high plateau of Mueggen, an inland district still cultivated with vineyards. Along the way you will encounter timeless peasant architecture: dry stone walls, isolated dammusi, and the famous Pantelleria gardens, true masterpieces of resilience built to protect citrus trees from the island's raging winds.

The atmosphere is that of a suspended world, in perfect harmony with nature. Walking among the vines and low walls, you will feel the slow breath of the Pantelleria countryside, an invitation to simplicity and optimism.

The return, after a visit to an ancient Pantelleria garden, will take you to the picturesque Piana di Ghirlanda, skirting a small unexpected canyon. A loop trail that will bring you back to the starting point with fresh eyes.
