What you can expect

  • The Starzlach Gorge is a gorge that offers fun for both beginners and professionals alike.

High jumps and the spectacular final slide at Rudi's Klammhütte make a tour in the Starzlach Gorge an unforgettable experience. If you don't like things quite so wild, you'll still be in excellent hands here, as the sections that require the most courage are not compulsory here either.

Anyone who has followed the narrow path of the water through the Starzlach Gorge can get a rough idea of the unstoppable energy with which the water has carved its way down from the Grünten.

For tourists walking up the gorge trail, we canyoneers, located a few meters below the path that was laboriously blasted into the mountain, are a real spectacle and a great photo opportunity. However, while they only read about the power of the water and the numerous fossils in the Starzlach Gorge, or catch a glimpse of them from afar, we are right in the middle of it all, in a fascinating world where we can run our hands over water potholes and stand on fossilized nummulites while looking down an incredible water slide…

The entrance fee to the gorge of €3 per person (charged by the Sonthofen Tourism Association) is included in the tour price.
Afterwards, you can stop for a meal at the Klammwirt Rudi or at the nearby Seppl-Wirt, which serves hearty Bavarian cuisine in appropriately large portions.
