With this walking guided tour you will discover, together with a professional tour guide, the ancient Roman baths of Aquae Granni, the city of Charlemagne and the coronation site of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire: a place that for thousands of years has continued to exert an incredible charm and attraction on its visitors.

Let's start with the grandiose monument at the entrance to the old town, the Elisa Fountain (Elisenbrunnen), which with its sulphurous vapours reminds us that the hottest thermal waters in north-central Europe flow here.
The nobility of the 18th century loved to frequent the baths of Bad Aachen.

We will see from all sides the Palatine Chapel, the Aachen Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece and the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Germany, which is the final resting place of Charlemagne and which houses amazing treasures and artworks.

We will also see the historic City Hall (Rathaus), which used to be the palatine hall in the 8th-9th centuries; it's on the foundations of this building that Aachen's Town Hall was built. Here we will learn more about the political and historical role of this city at the heart of Europe yesterday and today.

The itinerary includes Elisenbrunnen, Archaeological Site, Coin Fountain, Nobis Printen, Puppet Fountain, Am Hof, Couven Museum, Granus Tower, Town Hall, Market Square, Charles Fountain, Palatine Courtyard, Treasury Chamber, Palatine Chapel/Cathedral.
