What a wonderful house in a beautiful location! We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and on the beach. Weather was perfect, restaurants and shops in town were fun to explore. Overall a perfect getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at Drop Anchor! We loved the location of the house with the option of spending time at the marina or in town! The house was well equipped and clean. We loved having the option of renting the golf cart which made the experience so much more fun! We would definitely rent again. The owner and property manager were very easy to communicate with which made the experience even better!

House was perfectly clean, comfortable, with plenty of space to spread out and remote work areas. The kitchen was well-stocked, beds comfortable, and there were plenty of towels and games. The golf cart is top of the line! There is access to a community pool, tennis/pickleball courts, and it is very close to a private beach. Excellent communication by the host!

Had a fantastic family stay. Something for everyone! House is beautiful and they have all kinds of games inside and out. The community and s quiet and fun. We rented the golf cart and drove all over cape Charles. Grandkids loved it. The water at the private beach and the public beach is great for little ones. We hope to come back!

2nd year staying in this property. Last year impressed so much it was an easy decision to stay there again this year. Wonderful stay this year. Very nice property and great amenities. Excellent host. Makes coordinating the stay very easy and communicates very well and a pleasure to deal with.

2025 Family Vacay at Drop Anchor

Beautiful Home! We were very impressed with the quality of the home, furnishing, beautiful decor, amenities, and cleanliness of the space. The house was very comfortable and cozy with just the right beachy touches! The use of the golf cart was great and very convenient as was having use of the community the pool. We thought that the kitchen was well appointed, however, I would make one minor suggestion, when people come to vacation at the beach or bay, most will want to cook some seafood or fish. A large steamer pot would have been very useful along with a couple of large serving platters. Also, a FLY SWATTER! We eventually found one and purchased it for the house! The next family will find it useful :) We were sad that it was just way too hot to use the firepit in the evenings, but the outdoor space was lovely, and the landscaping was beautiful. Overall, we loved this home and everything about it! Looking forward to coming back sometime soon!

Relaxing Getaway

Amazing Easter Weekend

We planned a sibling weekend with our family’s included. Our brother and spouse from Iceland joined us and the rest of traveled down from Richmond. 2 hour drive and were there. Amazing community and the house….wow! Cure private beach nearby but i definitely recommend the beach in town. Easy drive in the golf cart or car. Lots of. Ute shopped and place to eat. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to come back.

Superb house

This house is nicely decorated and well appointed. The kitchen is fully furnished with all the necessary equipment and plate ware. The furniture is comfortable and high quality. The garages are also equipped with beach equipment, games, and an excellent golf cart (extra fee for use).

Nicest place in CC!

We had an incredible weekend in Cape Charles at Drop Anchor. We've been renting places in CC for the past 10 years, and this was the cleanest and most well-appointed home we've ever rented. My husband and I invited 4 friends to CC for the weekend bc they had never been, and they fell in love with everything! The golf cart was amazing, and we had the best time. Timely responses and detailed notes and emails from property manager. Thank you so much for having us at Drop Anchor! We’ll definitely rent this beautiful home again!

The openness of the living, dining and sitting area was awesome! The layout a bit different, the only bathroom on the main floor was really used allot! Wish it was a seperate bathroom.

Beautiful home

We really enjoyed staying at Drop Anchor. The home was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We had everything we needed including the use of the golf cart. Communication with Trey was outstanding. He was always quick to respond to my emails. We will definitely book this home in the future!

PERFECT for our Family!!!

What a great home to relax and enjoy time together while experiencing beautiful and quant Cape Charles. Drop Anchor had all the amenities needed for a wonderful long weekend. This beautiful, very clean, comfortable and well stocked home was central to all activities and restaurants. The beds and linens were super comfy and we rested well in the quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed early morning sunrise coffee on the screened porch and then hopped on our rented carts and were able to explore all the natural beauty of the beaches, the community pool, the close-by museum, restaurants and down town shoppes. Coming home to lots of yard games provided was super fun. We would LOVE to rent Drop Anchor again next visit. Trey was awesome to work with - kind, helpful, and super fast to communicate. Highly recommend! Thank you, Trey for helping make our family weekend so special!

Wonderful stay

Wonderful stay in an immaculate house. Weather was a little rainy during our week but we had plenty of space to spread out and things to do for the teens. Enjoyed the ping pong table, paddle boards, multiple walks into the downtown area and local shops, and of course the nice calm sandy beach. Added benefit that all the chairs and towels we needed were ready and waiting. Bedrooms and kitchens were spacious and very clean. We cooked for 9-10 every night in the kitchen which was stocked with everything we needed for a large group. Host was easily accessible for a couple of questions we had, overall a very well-managed property and a lovely small town area.

Family beach vacation

Great house accommodations, close to the Bay and only a 50min drive to the Ocean. The town was quaint and close enough to walk. The property manager was quick to respond to questions and/or issues. The house was spotless, even the window sills were dust free! Would 100% recommend.
