Manager argued with us about the oceanfront room we selected…once we arrived they were adamant on giving us a room with a partial view. There was no distinction online and the room should’ve been a king but they pushed 2 beds together. Tried to upsell us a 25,000 dollar member package and drinks were terrible as well as food selections. We stayed at Moon palace Sunrise. If you were not staying at moon palace the grand…don’t expect any frills.

The lobby was crowded and took time for checkin Reservations at restaurants were hard to find. The 90min Presentation is not a good marketing and drains you out. Their coupon for next travel is worth but they don’t offer it till end of present ration of check out. Property and service is nice and staff is helpful. Maya Rivera Resturant at golf course was five stars and because there is no one of the servers - Abraham was outstanding. If you get there and get him as your server , you are all set.

Overall, I'd highly recommend Moon Palace Resort to everyone and especially to families with younger kids. There are plenty of choices for food (incl vegetarian and egg free but barely any vegan choices), play and in general entertainment. I'd recommend at least 3 nights or 5 nights if you want to do excursions like Xcaret Park or Chichen Itza. There are three things that we had hard time with: - Check in took way too long. Our long flight with two kids were exhausting and this check in made the experience frustrating to say the least. - Most restaurants not accepting walk-ins was painful. The spring break crowd made this worse as every restaurant would get booked way in advance and we'd have to eat at the mediocre international buffet or eat very late in the evening which wasn't an option with kids. Also, FYI - their app does not allow you to make two reservations on the same night i.e. changing your mind will cost you so pick carefully. - Food and drinks by the pool side closes around 5pm which was incredibly annoying. Apart from the above comments, white sand at the beach, pool experience for kids, wired lounge and playroom, room service, hookah at Sky Bar, etc. were all pleasant. We had nice experience at the Spa as well. Kids got to experience gecko's and several deers on the last day which was a nice surprise.

Moon Palace was a very well-organized resort. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the food was incredible. The restaurants and bars were always ready to serve. However, there was one issue: they were quite pushy about selling packages for your next trip, and someone would follow you around everywhere trying to sell them.

This property was great, it was our first visit to the Moon Palace and we enjoyed it so much. The grounds are enormous and beautiful, they have golf carts to transport between different areas which is convenient. The pool is huge!! However, the one thing that was frustrating was that everybody throws a towel on the pool chairs and there is no where to sit! We were finally able to find one on the beach after circling for a while. Victor at the beach brought us food and drink and is a cool dude. The food was really good and service is very efficient. I definitely would like to return for my next vacation.

During my stay, I booked a deluxe suite and was a VIP member. However, the hotel informed me that they could not accommodate the upgrade I had already paid for through Expedia unless I paid for it directly with them. Additionally, we had prepaid for transportation as part of our Expedia booking, but the hotel refused to honor this unless the trip was booked directly through them, requiring us to incur additional costs. Furthermore, dining at most of the resort’s restaurants required reservations well in advance, as they were already fully booked by the time we arrived. This was especially frustrating, as despite having paid a significant amount for the trip, we were unable to access the dining options we had looked forward to. The credits provided through Expedia during our stay could not even be fully used.
