Capitol Theatre has developed a reputation for being one of the most exciting performing arts venues in Columbus in a relatively short time. It opened in 1989 and wasted no time in catching up, now rivaling the historic theaters in downtown Columbus for state-of-the-art live entertainment. The 900-seat venue hosts a wide variety of concerts, plays, musicals and events by international and local performers, including headliner acts and up-and-coming stars.

Capitol Theatre is located on the third floor of the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts in the heart of downtown Columbus, opposite Capitol Square. The area is well-served by local buses, many of which end service at around midnight; if you plan on having a few post-show champagnes on opening night make sure you book a taxi in advance.
