Summery weather isn't limited to summertime in gorgeous Los Cabos, so shorts and a T-shirt are likely to be your uniform whenever you come. Los Cabos isn't necessarily an area that calls for much independent travel. But if you do want to get out and explore beyond the pristine section of coastline your hotel is on, then driving is the best way. Rent a car from a well-known chain to avoid scams. Alternatively, public buses will take you between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, and will stop along the coast, and there are several reputable local taxi companies you can use too.
