The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort
"The Sanctuary is very nice and a really good place to go if you would like an immaculate hotel on a very nice beach. I had valet service with my car and the guys that run that part of the operation were very pleasant and funny. The pool was gorgeous and the staff there was superb. I lived in Kiawah last summer while my home was being prepared in Mt Pleasant and I loved the cycling, the festivities, and taking my kids to the Indigo bookstore and Ben and Jerry's. Every once in a while a band would play in the park at Freshfields and that was fun. The only (minor) downside. One receptionist was a little frosty when we were checking in (she gave us the 'one over') and (even more minor) the pool closed early (for me) so nobody could go for a late night dip without being asked to leave. Overall, of course: a very pleasant stay. Christophe"
