Room keys weren’t available and the staff had to let us in the room each time. The rooms are very small and no privacy in the bathroom which is right at the end of the beds. The barn style bathroom door has a large area on each side which someone can see in if they walk by. The view was pretty though and a large window to look out. Staff were friendly.

The room was ok. VERY small and ok on cleanliness. It is hard to tell in the picture just how small it is. The breakfast was good. The lobby was small, cold and extremely busy with people just in each others way. Front desk people were ok. One thing that stood out was, when I asked about parking they sent me to a lot for $60 a day, when on street parking is free on the weekends. They didn’t tell me that. I found out the next day and pulled my car out and saved money.

Our family of three stayed at Hyatt Place for 2 nights over the Thanksgiving break and overall liked it. The room is tiny (like all Manhattan hotels) but clean, and the view at 38th floor was terrific. Enjoyed the breakfast and gym facility as well. The only complain was the elevator was kind of slow especially in "rush hour".

Overall, I was happy with this hotel. The staff was polite and helpful. The location was incredibly convenient -- easy, walkable access to the F/M and 1/2/3 subway lines, which will get you basically anywhere you need to go. The complimentary breakfast is more than enough to fill you up -- eggs, fruit, pancakes, French toast, potatoes, toast, cereal, yogurt, bagels, bacon, sausage, juices, coffee. The only downsides to the hotel were the incredibly small size of the room and the elevators. My mom and I had a double room (two double beds), and there was absolutely nowhere to move without climbing on top of the beds. There were no drawers or anywhere to put your suitcase, so we had to keep them packed and zipped and standing at the foot of our beds the entire time. The bathroom was equally small, though functional. I can't imagine more than 2 people fitting in a room, though. The second issue was the elevators. During morning rush hour (say, 6-10am), the elevators are a nightmare. There are 4 of them, but it seems like only 1 or 2 are ever in motion. You'll either wait one minute or 20 minutes for an elevator, there's no in-between. I gave up one morning and walked down 25 flights of stairs to breakfast. Sometimes you have to just catch a ride on an elevator going up and ride it back down (it will likely stop on almost every floor on the way down). I'd still stay here again for the location and free breakfast, but those two things were big headaches.

The hotel is very clean. Breakfast area is clean, but very small, you need to get there early to get a table. Elevators are always busy too. The front desk is rude and not helpful. The location is perfect.

The staff was great, my issue was more with the other guests. I was unnecessarily yelled at by one of the guests during breakfast on Thursday, Nov. 20th to move out of her way, when she could have said excuse me. If the tables were further apart, it would not have been an issue. But the tight table areas made breakfast chaotic and unpleasant.

Room is fantastic especially the city view. However, elevators are so busy, and breakfast was voted “top notch” according online but people didn’t have a place to sit because there wasn’t much space. Food wasn’t refilled right away having other guests to wait, standing, and it closed at 9 am. I expected more for the “top notch breakfast” as it said online. Servers are not visible so its even harder to ask for help. They absolutely did not deliver their top notch standards for breakfast. Lastly, bacon wasnt crispy and it was cold. :(
