We stayed one night with friends. We booked a deluxe room with soaking tub and it was a nice room, clean, soft bedding, fluffy pillows, fridge, microwave, TV, and the balcony that looks out to the courtyard. The fireplace was a very nice touch. Everything functioned in our deluxe room.
Our friends booked a standard room that was upgraded to sea view, albeit it was foggy and you couldn't see the view. No complaints from our friends.
There was hot food free breakfast included with our reservations and the options were plentiful.
We enjoyed sitting by the fire in the outdoor hot tub and pool area.
The staff were great. Parking was onsite and plentiful. They have coffee, tea, and cookies near the front desk. I appreciated how close it is to Hearst Castle, elephant seal lookout, and also walkable to restaurants.
However, the building itself needs some upgrades or maintenance. The caulking around soaking tub was cracking for the deluxe room. The stairs going up to our friend's standard room was rusted and could be replaced. The towels for the deluxe room were thin and not luxuriously thick like other hotels.
Overall, for our one-night stay, it did the job. Cleanliness, safety, and quietness are my biggest concerns and those were met during our stay.
