"Very friendly, authentic parisian, clean, great location..."
Wow. I took my mom with me to France, where her family is from. I decided she needed to be able to go back to this beautiful place. Our first destination? Paris!! -But where should we stay? We planned to travel in Paris from July 28- August 5. I researched for months... our decision... the lovely Hotel Cecilia.
As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a friendly, "Bonjour!" Hotel Cecilia employs the nicest people you will ever meet. There is friendly staff serving great coffee or tea at breakfast…petit pain au chocolat, croissants, cheese, apple sauce, orange juice, milk, … The hotel has a very beautiful, clean interior...charming in every way. There is a french style décor, winding staircase, charming environment, and an authentic Parisian elevator.
I had requested a nice balcony room by email, and for it to be facing MacMahon Ave.. a decision my mom and I both were very pleased with. We entered our spacious room with large, beautiful French balcony and AMAZING (felt like we could almost touch it) view of l'arc de triomphe. There were gorgeous, amazing nighttime views… the city lights really made it special. There was a beautiful, sparkling clean bathroom, with both a tub/shower and toilet, and a pretty blue border on the white tile.
Hotel staff did not try to cheat us with added fees nor overcharging, as I have read other hotels have done. They are close to so much….metro is approx 1-2 min walk….Air France stop 1-2 min walk… many cafes, brasseries, patisseries, shops, ….and each monument is mere minutes on the metro. Maps (which were indispensable) are offered at the front desk, and you can buy Air France bus tickets to the airport at the front desk. They called a taxi for us. Vivian took much time on their own front desk computer trying to book us train tickets. Marie, Vivian and Frank always were so sweet answering any questions we had, even adding in their own helpful suggestions. The whole hotel was very nicely decorated. I would without a doubt rate the hotel and our whole experience with Hotel Cecilia much better than a three star…I’d rate it a 4 1/2 to 5.
We give credit to the pleasantness of our stay at Hotel Cecilia to mainly Frank, Marie, and Vivian, though others were also helpful.. Those three were unbelievably kind, sweet, helpful and funny…. They even held long conversations with us! Whenever we go back to Paris, we will not look for another hotel. This is our go-to, and we will recommend it to everyone we know.
There is also the sweetest, most wonderfully delicious neighborhood French café very closeby…. Les Saveurs d’Antan at 18 Avn Mac Mahon. Say, "Bonjour" to Delilah (spelling?) and father, Farhar, who run the place. …once we found them on our (2nd?) day, we went back each day afterward, sometimes more than once per day…. I miss their food and their friendliness..they treat you like family right away!
Merci beaucoup, Hotel Cecilia!!!
