The entire place was built with the harvest of one single redwood tree. Since we were there to see the redwoods, I thought this was a great way to see the lumber and how it was used, I think the hotel could really benefit from developing the historical story of the hotel and presenting it more. I specifically chose this place to see the wood. There were a couple of postcards I could buy at the lobby, but I would have liked a lot more history. It could be a destination instead of just a place to sleep.
