Now that I’ve gotten my fill of winter, I can hear the beach calling my name! And it would be rude not to answer… So, off I go back to sunny Mexico! I can never stay away for long. The allure of the crystal blue waters, the vibrant beaches, the swaying palm trees. How can I resist? My destination: Oasis Hotels & Resorts. Four beautiful properties in three days. Each resort has its own flavor and flair, and I want to experience it all.

  • Grand Oasis Sens
  • Grand Oasis Cancun
  • Grand Oasis Palm
  • Grand Oasis Tulum
Grand Oasis Sens Sian Ka'an Beach Club

After all, why pick one location when you can go to all of them? I may be indecisive, but I think I make the most of it! Lucky for me, the Grand Oasis Runaway Program allows guests to visit any of their superb selection of beach resorts at no additional cost. So, I will be free to roam as much as my heart desires! Follow my travels on Twitter and Instagram as I soak up the sun and make it my personal goal to enjoy as many ocean views as possible!

February 7

I arrive in Cancun and begin my stay at the Grand Oasis Sens, the adults-only resort that caters especially to foodies and couples. I can’t wait to explore the first of many gourmet all-inclusive resorts I have ahead of me!

  • A morning of travel can be tiring even for a seasoned wanderer like myself. To start off my trip refreshed and rejuvenated, I plan to hit up the beach first for some quality R&R.
  • I’ll be staying in one of the Sian Ka’an rooms, which means “Heaven’s Door” in Mayan. You had me at “heaven”!
  • I never did have a knack for science, but something tells me that won’t stop me from enjoying every bit of my lunch at Benazuza. This innovative restaurant combines molecular gastronomy with hints of Mexican cuisine for a truly one-of-a-kind dining experience.

That evening, I’ll make my way to the Grand Oasis Cancun. This property is the entertainment hub of the Oasis Hotels & Resorts, with plenty to choose from. If you’re looking for night life, this is the resort for you!

  • Of course, I can’t leave a resort known for their entertainment without going to dinner and a show at Red Circus, which I hear is a spectacular display of dazzling acrobatics, costumes and special effects.
  • Gnomes are not known for their musical abilities, but I’ll see if I can pick up a thing or two from the DJ at the beach club stage. Any other night owls are welcome to join the party!

February 8

I’ll begin my day at the Grand Oasis Cancun.

  • I’m told this resort has the longest pool in Cancun. From a gnome’s perspective, that’s even longer. Let’s hope I don’t float away!

After that, I’ll hop over to the Grand Oasis Palm. Whether or not you’re traveling with kids, this family-friendly property has everything you need for adults to feel pampered and for kids to have the time of their lives.

  • What better way to spend the morning than lounging with a stunning view of the ocean? The Kids Club offers the perfect escape for the young ones (and a perfect break for the parents too, I might add).
  • The biggest decision I plan on making today is whether to lunch first or pool first? Or lunch by the pool? Decisions, decisions.
  • I’m looking forward to dinner at Careyes. Their specialty is French Mexican gourmet fusion. I’ve been told the ambience is lovely and the food exquisite.

February 9

Oasis Hotels & Resorts make it easy to jump between locations with Smart Cars available to rent from any of the properties. So, on my last day I’ll be zipping around in my gnome-sized ride for a day trip out to the Grand Oasis Tulum. This laid-back resort is perfect for nature-lovers looking to go off the beaten path for a more secluded getaway.

  • Staying in the Sian Ka’an is like home “suite” home. I do have a weakness for amenities. No point in resisting, I might as well indulge while I’m there!
  • Next, I’ll blow off some steam at the Temazcal, a Mayan sauna designed for deep detoxification.
  • The resort is kid-friendly, but they do provide areas that are for adults only, including an infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Not a bad place to sip a cocktail while I bid farewell to Mexico.

There you have it, my complete itinerary! I’ll be posting each day of my journey on Twitter and Instagram from February 7-9, so be sure to follow. Or even better, you could plan your own seaside getaway to one of the Oasis Hotels & Resorts! I believe I hear the beach calling your name too…

Hasta luego,

The Roaming Gnome
