Book a hotel near Théâtre du Petit Champlain, Old Quebec

"This is a very old and historic hotel in a perfect location, just behind Chateau Frontenac. Easy walking distance to most everything. No elevators. A small lounge with a microwave, coffee machine and very small ice maker. It makes about 3 cups of ice. But there is a mini-fridge and coffee maker in every room. Allison was the lovely young woman at the desk. She was so helpful, lending me the office corkscrew for a bottle of wine, and ordering our next-day taxi back to the airport. This hotel does not have 24/7 desk staff. Guests are given a code number to enter the building after staff has gone for the day. Hotel Jardin du Gouverneur is old and funky; its best quality is location. It does have comfy beds and bedding, and it was clean. Our room was on the second floor, and the only room with a patio. It overlooked the garden park, and the St Lawrence River. It was lovely. I would stay there again, if I ever get back to Quebec City."

"This hotel is certainly great for the location. It’s a quick easy walk over to old town. It’s a modern updated design. The bathroom and shower were a good size and had lots of counter space. The biggest negative was when we were hoping to enjoy the view and the windows are so dirty you can’t even see outside. To be fair as we were leaving there was a notice up saying they were starting window cleaning but that was too late for our stay. The room overall was clean, but a couple of odd housekeeping things. For one, we only had a couple of tissues in the tissue box when we arrived, once we used them it was a couple days before we got more and then they were just placed beside the holder not in it. One day they left the empty toilet paper roll on the bathroom counter. A little more attention to detail could be taken. The pool area was underwhelming, there is so much open space and it looks like the chairs are just randomly thrown anywhere. It could use some decor, some tables, some greenery or plants, something to make it inviting. Overall the location would be the big selling point. "

"Wonderful hotel, perfect location for touring the Old Town of QC, and easy access to the upper level as well. Charming area and hotel, very friendly and accomodating staff, even to English :) "

"The number one top of mind is service. Had to drop off my wife and 2 kids to return a car rental and the service offered was top notch. Only spent like 5 mins interacting but the it was super positive. Second location, it is off the main road by a minute so giving some space with less crows. However so close to everything that we enjoyed our late night stroll."
