Great view!

Lovely time staying here. The view is incredible, can't beat the sunsets. There's a great stairway to the beach, (59 steps!), that's more intimidating than reality. The house is a bit dated but very comfy. We will likely be back sometime in the future.

Some challenges, but overall a great time

This is a beautiful, if somewhat dated property. The views are great, the kitchen was serviceable, and the neighborhood was quiet. Access to the beach really sealed the deal for us.A few issues. When we first arrived, the automatic deadbolt was sticking, so we weren't able to get in until we reached out to the manager. It seemed to work fine after that. Then, the doorknob of the garage door fell off. We fixed it as best we could without proper tools, and it functioned for the rest of the trip. The blinds in the living room were not properly attached, so one of them could not be closed. We fixed this as well. The dehumidifier filters were pretty moldy, so we took care of that, and it mitigated the mustiness quite a bit.The view, which was spectacular, was initially heavily obscured by dirty windows. We found a squeegee on a pole in the laundry room, and went to work with a hose. The windows were 10x better after a little elbow grease, even if we didn't do a perfect job.Overall, we had a great time. The needed repairs weren't ideal, but we still enjoyed our stay very much.

Amazing views

This waterfront home is in a fantastic location with breathtaking views. We loved taking in the sight of the Cape Arago Lighthouse each day. On our final evening, the skies cleared, treating us to a stunning sunset over the lighthouse.

Beautiful, just beautiful!

Before we get into the prenominal view of this property, let me say that this house was probably the best equipped and most comfortable property we have ever stayed in! From the well equipped kitchen to the comfy furniture this place left nothing to be desired! They have thought of everything! The view is exceptional and the semi-private beach below is a haven for walking with the dog able to run free. This place has the room for a family and has a big closet full of games and puzzles for those wet Oregon Coast days inside. Lots of beach toys for kids in the garage. We were blessed with clear skies and fantastic December weather, but could easily stay here and watch it storm. Just a couple of notes. The stairs down to the beach were no problem for us, but they are steep. The view of the lighthouse and great beach are worth the effort. The driveway is steep and we found it best to back down rather than back up on the highway. It can be a bit confusing if dark. Also, there needs to be a working light on the side of the garage to illuminate the walk at night. Minor quibbles about an otherwise wonderful retreat in an absolutely beautiful spot!

Been going here for 20 years. Amazing place.

The price was a bit high during peak season, but this place is wonderful. The host responded to all of our questions promptly and we loved our time here. Really can’t say enough about how great this rental was.

Spectacularly beautiful spot!

We loved our stay here. The view from the living room out over the bay and to the light house is spectacular. We had the beach to ourselves. It was very comfortable and we very much appreciated having a place that took dogs.

Just OK for the price

Great views and a quick 69 steps down to the beach. A older house with 2 small tripping steps, has its challenges. Beachside of house none of the windows open, so that you could hear the sounds of the ocean. Short entry driveway off a busy highway. One draw back is the landlord’s want you to strip the beds, take out the trash and if you would be so kind do a load of dirty towels or sheets before you leave it would be much appreciate.

A dichotomy; a mixed bag

5-star view, 4-star beach access, 2-star house. Great views from kitchen and very large living room. Access to very secluded very nice sandy beach, albeit via long steep stairs down a high cliff. Quiet area. House is old. Bathrooms clean and functional, but mediocre-hotel quality starting to show their age. Stove and fridge also clean and functional but mediocre. Cooktop works but has been terribly abused by someone. Fridge door rusting, painted over. Living room carpet nice. Hallway/bedroom carpet not -- maybe okay, but looks like old, bad shaggy carpet. Gave my GF the creeps. Weird unexpected 3-inch steps: master→hall and hall→kitchen. Don't notice until you trip. A hazard. We almost fell several times. Best update done was all new windows with wall of windows in living room showcasing the amazing view. On entry we were hit with strong musty/mildewy smell. Old houses near the ocean do get this, but it was so strong and remained no matter how much airing out we did. Living room also had just a hint as if someone smoked there long ago - would notice it whenever I re-entered, but then forget about it. Hallway and 2nd bedroom initially smelled like a dog was there, but that subsided. 2-car garage a plus, but somewhat grungy and smells strongly of old, damp wood. Actually quite a bargain for such a nice view and access to such a nice beach. If that's your primary goal, and you're ok with the funky old beach house vibes and smells you may really like it and rate it higher.

Don’t stay here

This place had rodent droppings through the kitchen, no privacy shades in the bedrooms, cheesecloth like towels and linens that were stained and pillows that were flat, stained and beyond their useful life. The highway is twenty feet from the bedroom windows so the road nose dominates in the bedrooms. Don’t get me started on the filthy dirty hvac filter, light fixtures, vents, windows. We lodged an informal complete with the property manager and the owner but we were just told that no one else ever complained. We then filed a formal complaint with evolve thinking they were going to take action. They asked for photos etc. complete crickets from all parties since our third day other than to tell us to go to Walmart to buy pillows or go find another house. Don’t stay here.
